hi everyone.
this is my living room I'm going to add a white and grey carpet (added a picture), i wanted to ask if you think it should be big which will get almost to the tv stand or smaller just beyond the coffee table.. in addition i feel like there's a little color and warmth missing do you have any suggestions? thank you.

I would get a rug with brighter color than just grey then add accents of that color in art or pillows and throw.

Looks like you need better lighting in that space.

Also if you post photos of the entire space, I can make suggestions of artwork. See my work here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/shoagallery

Some of my work is in the video below.

Would you be open to painting the walls? That would be the cheapest and fastest way to add color. Your rug choice is nice, but leans a little 80s against your already neutral palate. I also agree with others that there are better options available to help liven the room up. Big is always better, in regards to rugs. Go big and colorful with your rug.

Your floor lamp should go beside your sectional, not tv. Move glassware/vases from floor. They are too small for floor placement. Replace blinds with roman or wood shades. After wall paint, rug, and decor is complete, add wall decor/art.

    What color is your sectional?

I agree with everything Steph said....except I would go with fabric window treatments......nothing gray.

lately i have been noticing that when you have dark furniture, if you then have light pillows they look like white holes. so you need more umph to your color.

it looks like a dark brown sectional to me.

a couple choice for curtains to keep it light.

    Nice flat.

I like the one or two tone pillow on the sofa idea and a matching rug. And yeah, get a big one.

But, not sure our mate Zack here should get wee pillows with giant flowers and the like on them. It would probably clash too much with otherwise cool pad.

I think it also always depends on budget. The idea of repainting the entire place and making over windows etc are all great ideas, budget permitting.

I don't think some of the posters realized the OP was male. Well, hopefully.

I didn't mean to be a wank though or anything and if some men are into flowers and stuff like that, I'm definitely not one to judge them. I was just making an observation.

A super colourful rug would work nice for a pop or funk in there. I agree.
