I need some help! I'm moving into my new home soon but I'm having trouble trying to figure out how I want to set up the main living space.

As you can see, the entrance to the house is on the right side of the picture where the chandelier is. You walk up a few steps and this is the main living area. The side where the person standing is your living room and the pole in the middle of the room marks the start of the dining room. That whole middle section from the stairs to the wall is the dining area, and the farthest area is the kitchen + breakfast area.

Here is another picture from a different angle. This picture was taken from the steps at the entrance of the house.

So here's my dilemma. The dining area is right in the middle of the entire space. I was thinking about maybe putting the dining table on the far side of the room where you see the two windows.

Which I think will be fine. But then the problem is - what do I put in the area that is supposed to be the dining room (that middle section)?
