You guys are so lucky! I've been looking for a Whitney for so long, and 2 weeks ago I finally found one from Hirt's Garden and ordered it. I was so excited, but when my order arrived they sent me a large Eve by mistake. That made me even more excited because I couldn't find Eves anywhere and really wanted one! And Hirt's gave me a full refund to boot...

Mary, do you have Lowes near you? You could try there.

My local WalMarts have been stocking Whitney too.

Hi... There's a Lowes next town over, but sadly I have no transportation so I'm limited to online shopping only. The nearest Walmart doesn't have much of a garden center either... I've done pretty good with online ordering; besides the mistake with the Whitney, the only other problem I've had was with Hirt's, again,.. I ordered a Black Robusta that was gorgeous, and they sent me this scraggly skinny green plant that sort of resembles a Zeylanica or lighter colored Black Coral, idk. Anyway, Hirt's again gave me a full refund so that's good.

There has been a problem with the sans I've seen at the two stores in my neck of the woods. On the two types they've carried I noticed a fungus or other ailment that quickly spread and killed the plants that I saw every trip. I tried telling the store and showed them but it didn't seem to matter. The infected plants remained. Be Cautious when bringing new plants home. I've been lucky. It's called the ole eagle eye.

When I found this one, two others had an ugly blister and sick green circle, clearly sick plants. I have my new one in isolation till I'm sure it is free of contamination. I looked the plant over well before selecting it.
