I propagate and sell small Muscadine vines. For a few years now I have been using a 4-1 ratio of perlite to peat for my propagation media. I keep my cuttings under intermittent mist, 5 sec on 10 min off from 8am-4pm. My success rate is low possibly due to too much water retention in the propagation media. I need some advice from some experienced plant propagators. What would be the pros and cons with going to straight Perlite as a propagation media?
