Mine were definitely eggs. Smooth, flattened, shiny, and sticky. Popped audibly when I crushed them.

Saw the moth in the process of laying one. I didn't see a ton of eggs, but the moth doesn't lay them in clusters.

Haven't seen any eggs or moths yet here.

The eggs sure do make a satisying popping sound.

Visited my parent's garden today and saw one flying around. Their zuke stems are devastated from SVB. Saw hundreds of squash bug eggs, and the bugs were all over the plants. Their cukes were a fungal mess (probably from downy mildew,) and they had stink bugs and diseased leaves all over their tomatoes. All I could think, after trying to explain that watering twice a day maybe wasn't the best idea, was that I needed a shower before getting near my plants lol.

Seeing the SVB though, was sobering. I'll be double checking my row cover for weeks.

I had SVB two years ago. But not last year and this year. But one (out of 30) Kabocha plant is dying since it turns yellow. Not sure why. I'll have to check for SVB. I did not see it as of now, could be inside.

After hand-picking the eggs and spraying the bases of the vines with spinosad, I did see one bore hole in a secondary vine, which I injected with spinosad, and the vine is doing fine now. Since I'm only growing C. moschatas this year, I think at this point the main base of the plant is way too hard for borers to get in. Vines are just way too unwieldy now to check carefully for borer eggs, so I'm hoping most of the borers around here have already done their egg-laying.
