Is the picture of the 'straight stem clone that hasnt leafed out'? Im not sure that it is a clonal cultivar. it looks like a seedling and the description makes me think that arid lands pollinated their stock plants of the two clones themselves. That's not a bad thing though. There is a high probability that it will be what you want. If it were a clone it would have to be rooted, grafted, or (much less likely) produced by tissue culture. It isn't grafted and doesn't look like a rooted cutting. I could be wrong because I've never rooted adenium (although I think it would be easy to do) but ive rooted lots of trees and shrubs and normally, when you root a cutting you won't get a taproot. You get a radial root structure and often a nice nebari root flare at the soil line. Often adenium enthusiasts disfavor cuttings because they don't (at least not early on) produce the conspicuous caudex that the plants are know for, which is why most clones are grafted. Anyway, like I said I could be wrong and you might be talking about two different plants anyway. Good luck with it. Either way it should be nice
