Asiatic Bittersweet Invasion

About 2 years ago asiatic bittersweet first popped up into my yard. Now it's a full on invasion.

I can get by doing what I've been doing, which is ripping sprouts out of the ground and getting as much root with it as I can, and if I happen to miss a vine and it tries to murder one of my trees, I cut it at the base and let it die before trying to remove it, but here's the problem, I have virginia creeper growing in a lot of places in my yard (I purposely planted it a long time ago), but now the bittersweet vine is attempting to take over in many of those places.

I need to actually kill it via poisoning since digging it out is not an option and I can't take any chances of poisoning my virginia creeper. If I applied a herbicide to a freshly cut stump, can that affect my creeper? Basically, can the roots wind up spreading herbicide into the ground?

Thanks!
