in that time period, "seedy" glass was very popular, but it doesn't offer much privacy unless you do a double pane thermal with seedy on outside and a frosted glass (acid etched) on the inside pane.

Thanks for the input, both! Frosted would certainly be easy, which is great. I do like the idea of a seedy/frosted combo, if it's not cost prohibitive. Any thoughts on Delta Frost?

Go to any decent glass shop and look at the samples in person. There are scores of glass patterns that would be appropriate and you can see how much they obscure. Here is Delta Frost:

Actual etched or frosted glass doubles in price. I know, I just bought glue chip for my garage door windows since I have glue chip in the sidelights .. go to HD and buy frost film and apply it yourself .. much less expensive .. OR, , buy etching spray or cream . . and frost it yourself .

I needed privacy in my wood door & sidelights. I got this stuff at Lowes. They have a ton of patterns. Lots of frosty whites too. My before & after:

I cannot tell you how bad I hated curtains of any kind!! On the door or sidelights!

I did the door & sidelights with 2 rolls!!

This was just what I wanted for the style of my home. I did this about 5 years ago & it's still hanging in there!!
