Problematic cutting

Hi friends. I got a fresh plumeria cutting from bangkok in december. Let it callous and planted it in a mix of soil and perlite. Since the winters here in spain is cold, I put the pot on top of a radiator maintaining a constant temperature with lots of light.

Well. We are in July now, and the darn thing has not rooted yet. I thought that it had rotted, so I took it out of the pot and it's exactly as I planted it 6 months ago.

Is it normal for a plumeria to take that long to root? All my other cuttings have rooted in less than 40 days, but this one is giving me some trouble!!!

Could you please tell me what I can do so my baby roots?

I would not call it normal but it has happened before. You could use a rooting hormone in addition to all the right things you are already doing.

Thank you the_first_kms2. I have put rootone on it as well as a raw egg in the soil. But the cut end is still hard and calloused. It looks like a fresh cutting. The whole cane is hard and plump

I planted a cutting early March. Much to my surprise it started to develop an inflow about a month ago. I had a little accident when the pot that the cutting is in tilted two weeks ago, and I noticed that the cutting hasn't developed one single root... yet the inflow keeps growing and growing. Not sure what to think of this and what to expect...

Hi ConnyNL, mine started to give out an inflo at the beginning, but I was told to cut the inflo so that the cutting can concentrate on putting out roots. Now I have no inflo and no roots!!!

Ouch.... hm, I think I'll wait to see if the inflow will flower at some point. Will keep you posted!

I know you have been waiting a long time already but unfortunately the only further advice is to wait and see. I think I have had one take 10 months to successfully root and I may have 1 that is on 13 months and still nothing. In this instance even though the tips are green still I just don't know if it's still viable. Only thing I can do is wait and see what happens next.
