the wall i want to cover is 12 feet and 8 inches and just under 8 feet high, does the 4 rolls and one sample cover? i don't want to waste a bunch.

You are a bit over 4 bolts. I suggest that you buy 5 bolts of this. We generally sell this in 4 bolt increments, but we can sell you 5 bolts for your project at the same cost per bolt. The sample piece is folded and may be a different dye lot than the 4 bolts so that is not a good idea. Moreover, there is some waste in hanging wallcovering so, it would be wise to get the 5 bolts. If you want to do this, msg me and I will set it up for you.
