"Command center" with wine storage?

This is what I call the "back hall."

Currently, I have the armoire with office stuff & have the 27" Mac desktop in my bedroom. Plan is to switch to laptop when it dies, so I don't want to plan long term around the Mac.

We enjoy drinking wine, not collectors or anything like that! But will go & get case or 2 at a time to drink.

please excuse mess & unfinished trim!!!

How it relates to kitchen & you can see water access on wall.

Opposite side with my "hobbit closet" I keep my household tools, vacuum, mop & brooms in here.

Is there anyway to incorporate the 2 different needs together with some built-ins?

And I'd like a tall cabinet to put all my extra big serving pieces- beverage dispensers, chafing dishes, warmers- that kind of stuff.

Something like this- one tall cabinet could be wine storage- bottles & glasses

The other side storage. With desk in the middle, but counter height. I don't even know that I'd want the open knee space- maybe a roll out desk area?

    Bad idea?

Does anybody have any ideas on making this area have more storage & function?

    Thank you, Cpartist!

Here ya go........I waited to live here & see what type of area I'd need here.

I also have another window that would have same dimensions I could add on the wall with the door to let in more light. 41.5

Ive spent hours on houzz. The slanted ceiling is throwing me off- highest point on the ceiling is 172"

Love this one, but not glass doors! Need utility, not just pretty!

I'm horrible at dimensions of cabinets & what is visually pleasing.

Big cabinet is 54" divided into 3 -18" sections. With trim& filler it might cut it down too much? Maybe 2-24" sections instead?

Knee space is 30"- maybe could do wine fridge/beverage down the road?

24" stack on other side with roll out for printer.

Window would be nice to have light from 2 sides of room- not centered?

    Am I way off base?

No I don't think you're off base at all. I personally would probably go with 2 24" sections instead of the 3 18" sections. I think 3 will look a bit skimpy. I especially like the idea of the window above the desk/etc.

I like where you're headed and you obviously have a good eye. (You weren't sure what to do with your shelves, but you knew they didn't look right, which shows your good eye.)

Thank you, cpartist!! I consider that a compliment, especially from you:)

I did find this cabinet from old house in Nashville, it would need some work. But I love the old latches, painted over- of course. And the patina of it & the size// oh, the storage!!

I could have desk area built next to it?

    It's $1200. I'm sure I cou negotiate some.

    what do y'all think?
