I am wondering if it is possible to reverse only the sliding door portion to open on the right and leave the fixed glass panel on the left?

Unfortunately this is not an option, there would be a gap between the two
panels if you tried to install it as described in your inquiry.

Both panels shattered. My review was based on looks prior to installation. Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere.
