It does indeed look like a Brasil to me. I thought maybe there was sun shining in the window or something when I first saw the picture, because I agree it's a much lighter hue than other Brasils I've seen. The leaf on the far right does show typical Brasil coloring. Maybe there is another variety that is lighter in color, like this one? I see no burn marks on the leaves, but that doesn't mean it was gradually acclimated to too much light. I'd try it in a little less light and see if the typical color develops.

If less light doesn't darken it somewhat, it may be a little chlorotic. Does your water have a lot of lime in it (which can raise the PH?) Does this pot have a hole in the bottom?

Randi, that's what I was wondering - if there is a variety of Brasil with lighter colouring. I'll definitely keep an eye on it as it adjusts to the light in my room.

Tiffany, I'll wait and see if it darkens over time! I've only had it for a few weeks. I don't think my water has a lot of lime in it as my other plants are fine / normal coloured. Yes, my pot has a hole in it.

adorablurr There is a philodendron 'cream splash' same variegation pattern as 'brasil' but creamier yellow instead of chartreuse.

@mrsjdbeltran Ohhh that is certainly very pretty, and slightly closer to what mine looks like! Maybe mine is a mystery in between. It's so cool to think that there are so many varieties within the species. :)

One stem of mine reverted to a plain lime green. Don't think that happens often though. A discussion I started to ask about it got very few responses.

Actually that is very common. All of my Brazil's have some solid vines.

This vine as all neon leaves and even the new growth is lime.

I just purchased this beautiful plant today and I thought it's a Philodendron Brasil but the people at the plant store told me it was a type of Pothos?? Will the leaves eventually grow darker with more sun?

Definitely a philodendron brasil, though the care is identical to pothos. A bunch of non-expert plant care websites confuse the philodendron, epipremnum, and monstera species, but the vining philodendrons are easy to tell because of the papery brown cataphylls on the stems at the leaf nodes.

The leaves actually grow paler with more sun, so if you want more green with narrow lime/yellow stripes, keep it in a shady spot.

My brasil grown from a few cuttings, also has alot of the neon bits. And some whole leaves without any darker green.. the original cuttings were dark green with a yellow stipe down the middle. All my pothos and philos sit together should i move this to a darker spot? It seems happy and healty now tho.

The cream splash isn't yellow its white. The Rio has less yellow than the Brazil. Its a Rio. The philodendron cream splash is a varigated version of the Rio ( white instead of yellow) it just looks yellowish because it has 2 different shades of green and white.

Definitely from the Gabriella company but could also be considered a cream splash. They just happen to grow such amazing ones that they have taken on their own name (Gabby)

I love the beauty of these different varieties! This is the one I have, but now I need a Gabby! Mine is getting no sun - just bright shade indoors.

What you have is a philodendron Brazil. it looks to be a bit sun stressed, which brought on the lovely coloring. I’m attaching photos of a few philodendron leaves from my collection to give a better visual.

Those names are crazy! All of those leaves are probably on the same plant, maybe the same stem. "Cultivar names" are getting completely out of hand, even weeds supposedly have cultivars now.
