We are considering buying a split level house with 7.5 foot ceilings. We've been looking for a house in the Boston area for a year now, and the housing stock in our price range typical has very low ceilings. Has anyone raised the ceiling to 9 or 10 feet? We're wondering if its possible, what it costs and how we can make the shape of the house (from the outside) look nice too. The part of the house where we'd raise the ceiling is one level, there's nothing above it, no second floor. Thanks!!
