Full sun is fine for these at our latitudes. Be sure to water properly and mulch the area and it should do well. Best to wait until September to plant them.

Thanks, I'm planting at the end of July. I'll water daily or as needed. Seems like everything I plant is during the dog days of summer. But I always mulch and water

Growing Fernspray Gold is giving me fits. i think Im on my 4th and 5th one now. i believe the biggest reason they keep dying is bc not enough sun so I think your situation is fairly ideal for them. Im also thinking less water is better than too much water(generally speaking I see this as true for most conifers) as my land is quite wet.
