Hey guys, I just started growing my own plants but I am having trouble figuring out rather or not my plant is dead.

At first i saw a lot of growth, but now i haven't seen much since this black patch on the stem.

So i decided to take the plant out for a second to check on the seed,
and a bit of the seed fell apart and some white bugs were inside.

Is my plant dead? If not, then how can I save it.
