yep, have considered a color, but I know my mom would just say keep it white. As it is the condo DR and LR are the same color yellow she has had in her house since the 1980's.

Am I missing something, I don't see any pictures of the space you mention. If the cabinets were poorly painted with the wrong color white, then I would contemplate repainting them. I would not paint the walls another white because it will just end making one white look whiter and the other darker or a different tone. I would choose a color that compliments the tone of your cabinets. Is this a tile backsplash that you want to paint?

You could just paint it the same as the DR and LR then. Trying to coordinate whites in a windowless room can make a person crazy.

What's her favorite color to wear? I'd paint the kitchen that color. She might absolutely love it. If not, it's just paint and can be changed easily.

Can you take a cabinet door off to take to the paint store. If the cabinets are a harsh white, I agree with looking at repainting them. Otherwise a pale color might be better. Could you do a lighter version of the dining room yellow?

The cabinets are just a melamine cabinets, so they can't be painted.

You all- she's asking "what warm color should I paint the backsplash." The cabinets don't need to be painted.

No white will work well because the light will change it depending on which wall you are looking at. If she likes the yellow in the rest of the house paint it yellow

I will look into the peel and stick tile. Up against a very tight move in date of a couple weeks doing paint and wood floors.
