Nice little fellow. :-) But to answer your question: It is not that rare. ;-) I would not be surprised to see a couple or five out of, say, 100 seedlings showing this early sign of ramnification. At least when we are talking about arabicum seedlings.

Hm, interesting: this is supposed to be obesum. I have 40 arabicum in the nursery (sowed today - 2 weeks ago). I'll report when there are more showing early branching!

Nice looking baby Conny, I'd keep my eye close on this one. Usually early branching is a good sign of a keeper in my experience.

It does take up a hell of a lot of time, but it's so incredibly enjoyable!

Lol, that is where they eventually will have to go when they start to get bigger.... my employer is having a new office building built, and I've told him to make sure there will be plenty of window cills for my plants :-)

Oh, and I made myself that promise not to buy more seeds last week. Today is the start of the new week, so there are more coming!

Today's purchase really will be the last of this year... it has to be!

No grow lights yet, but I will get them in the autumn. At the moment the other half is rebuilding part of the big shed into a working area / plant storage for me. Lots of windows, also in the ceiling. Starting to look very nice. We will paint a name sign to go above the door: "desert rose". :-)

Do I have plans with them... well, idealy I'd like to keep one or two of each variety once I know what the caudex and blooms are like (true or not). Maybe a bit of experimenting (fusing; centipede roots). The others I'll probably give away or maybe sell/trade. But that's still a long way off :-)

We sure have Dennis! When I saw the weather forecast for this week on Sunday I told my boss I wanted a few days off (as we have't planned to travel anymore this year) so I could enjoy the weather in peace and see the effect on the seedlings :-)
