There is a very large difference between 1 metre and 2 metres (3.28 foot difference). I'd buy a I have several that are around 8-10 ft. and still in 6 inch pots because they are happy being stuffed into "too tight jeans". It will be difficult to say how big a pot you need, as you can't judge that without first seeing the root ball.
