We need help visualizing furniture layout we before we proceed with our main floor renovation. We are trying to open up more entertaining space. We will either go with the drawing below, basically eliminating our dinette and gain more space for the living room or take the wall down between the living room and den and move the office to the current dining room. The second option would give us on long (32') more narrow space (12") with the fireplace perhaps in an awkward location, but we are having trouble seeing how the first layout will work either. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Types of furniture would be great too, we want to get rid of our current black leather look and brighten the place up.
