My husband wants to make an offer on this house but I wouldn't know what to do with this room. I think the architectural components (wood and stone) are very busy. How could I calm down and quiet the room. I've looked into refinishing all the cherry wood to tone down the red/ orange so it doesn't contrast so much with the grey stone, but the cost is prohibitive. We could repaint the little drywall and even paint the window trim, replace the carpet, and are starting from scratch on furniture. I would appreciate your design advice.
