Any clue to what's going on? Mutation? I know seeds do a lot of weird things. I had albino plumeria seedling last year.

Okay, so I checked with the person that sold me the seeds. They say it's a desert horn chada petch. Also said that they are very slow growers. Apparently it's some sort of defect. We'll see how it goes. Still researching them.

Saplumeria, it was probably your autocorrect, but that should read Dorset Horn Chada Petch :-) Yes, don't throw it out for goodness sake, they're rather unusual.

Autocorrect can be a pain at times....I was writing away recently and didn't realise it had changed a typo word into 'flugelhorn'... I can't recall what it should have said, but why would I ever want to use that word in any message is beyond me, lol.

I'm feel a little more pressure now. Funny how plants can stress you out. I'm trying to grow ariocarpus fissuratus from seeds, and they are keeping me on my toes. I'm kinda worried about going on my cruise next month. Don't want to leave my babies alone for a whole week.

Near disaster! So I brought all my seedling inside the house for the winter. I set them on a heat mat in my son's bedroom next to his windows. He is home from college, so his cat likes to hang out in his room with him. We'll yesterday I go to water them, I noticed a pot with nothing in it. I think nothing of it and go to watering my cactus seedlings and 50 or so adeniums. Then all of this sudden for some reason I'm like I wonder how my DH is doing.....I look over and it it's gone! I yell at my son wake-up, your cat took my most prized adenium, you had better find it! After a couple of minutes of searching we found it in a pile of clothes on the floor. Thank god it didn't get chewed, stepped on, or lost. It looked healthy so I put it back in soil. I think it's gonna be okay. I hate that cat it has already killed two of my orchids that I had for a good while.

You absolutely must share its progress here ... Its quarky mishaps and all. Love it!!

It happened again about 3 weeks ago. Lost all its leaves, but has since started to put some on. You can see a puncture mark that the damn cat left. After the last incident I decided to put it in the middle of my 25 pots. Yet for some reason she found it.

Lol, I hope so. I'm joking....kind of...., but not really. How she singled it out twice without messing with any of the others is beyond me.

A stray kitten once put about 50 teeth marks in one my gorgeous jades. You can't undo teeth marks! Who knows why cats do the things they do? They are enigmatic, quarky, and laden with inbred psychosis ... That uncontrollable, independent nature of theirs is why cat lovers adore them. I, myself, am not a fan and prefer black Labs.

Please keep that DH safe from its feline predator. I want to see that one bloom!

Well they will be going outside soon, so I won't have to worry about the cat anymore. Just the squirrels.......

Funny story. We went on vacation for a week one time. Our dog didn't like that we left all alone. So he lashed out by attacking one of my plumeria. He got the sap all over his face, paws, leg, and belly. He proceeded to break out in one of the ugliest rashes I have ever seen. Looked like a bad case of poison oak. His hair fell out, and he was oozing for about a month.

Glad you found your missing baby! Those are rare, Dorset Horns. You better keep your cat out of that room though. Adeniums are deadly toxic to you and your pets so you are liable to end up with a dead kitty if it eats one.

Adeniums, and Plumeria are related. (Along with Pachypodiums.)

That's a gorgeous little DH ... So happy to see it survived bad kitty!!

I've got a number of slow growers too.

The DHA is cute! I used to not like them but I think they are growing on me. I have one now myself that is growing a heck of a lot faster than I had expected. But my growing season for them will soon be coming to an end until next summer.

You sooooo made me laugh. That's nothing ... I've given away half of them. There were over 300. Show that to your wife and she'll ease up on you. :-P Just tying to help you out, buddy! What I have is nothing compared to what others are harboring in their yards, greenhouses, and in their indoor grow rooms.

I'd bet if you gift your wife one triple bloom plant, she'll be hooked, too. A little psychology, or as we say in Spanish, "phylocogia" (instead of psycologia). OK,on 2nd thought, do not show her this ... She is soooo going to kill me.

Yeah, no, she hates all my hobbies.

But my backyard, and all my plants help sell my house even before they could see the inside. The realtor had trouble getting into the house so the buyers took a stroll to the back yard. They came back and said the inside better be as nice as the outside because we already want to put an offer in based on the back yard........

I had it all on video thanks to my skybell. For just a moment there my wife had to eat her words, and take back all the bad things she said about my plants. It was a good feeling.

Thanks Maria for letting me know about Mr Ko. I do plan on buying from him at some point. Just want to get a little more practice under my belt.

My husband hates my flowers too, saplumeria. I have all my flowers in containers. We 40 acres but some is swamp but I have the hardest time trying to figure out where to plant things and if it's going to look good. Lol
