I need modern kitchen ideas + help choosing windows.

We are planning to build a new house. We would like a big kitchen-dining-living room (koekken-alrum/stue in Danish). But the interior design is causing us trouble. Does anyone have a great idea on how to furnish the room in a functional and modern way. We have 3 small kids.
There is a nice view to the north-west. What windows should we choose and where should we put them in the room. Any idea/comment is welcome!
