SW Roycroft Pewter..... blue?

After a lot of deliberation we chose SW Roycroft Pewter for the exterior of our home. Our idea was a darker gray with white trim, black garage doors and a navy front door.
Yesterday the painters painted the entire exteriors and the color looks BLUE! Not like a bluish tone but actually blue! My brother called it steel blue. My friend said oh I love the shade of blue you painted it.
I'm stressing about this as we did not expect this color to look blue and now I'm worried that my color scheme isn't going to work! I researched the paint options a lot and even bought a sample, never did it look blue.
Two questions 1) is it possible that the color will look different in a day or so? Maybe it was still wet? We did go see it as the painters were finishing for the day.
2) I've wondered if somehow this paint is mixed wrong. Anyone familiar enough with this color to know if it could look blue or does it sound possible that this isn't the right color?

I don't know about the color itself, but your house looks awesome!! Love the color with the natural cedar.

I think your home looks beautiful, perhaps the pigment will change a little after a second coat?

Thanks. I went over today and in the morning (vs evening light and fresh paint) it doesn't look as blue or quite so dark.

When it's finished we will have even more natural cedar (columns and shutters), which should counter the dark.

Hi Amanda!

I know you posted this years ago, but I found this today while scouring the internet about the same thing! We picked Roycroft Pewter for our house and painted it on and it does look blue in certain light! I love the color, but nervous about the potential blue. I also am thinking of doing black garage doors and front door. Did you end up liking it? I would love to see a photo if you have one with the black doors:) Thanks!

We are planning to paint our house a medium to dark gray, white trim and shutters, black accents for the lighting, and perhaps teal for the front door. Just looking at the small paint swatches, Roycroft Pewter was our first choice (also considering Grizzle Gray, Peppercorn, and Foggy Day). I thought Foggy Day would read "too blue", but the swatch of Roycroft did not give me that idea, until I read your post! After living with it for a while, would you say it reads more blue or gray? We definitely want a color the reads GRAY.

We put off painting the exterior and are finally getting it done next month, but we completely changed our color scheme: we're going with a dark navy for the body of the house (SW's Anchors Aweigh); dark gray for the shutters, garage door, gutters, and trim (SW's Urbane Bronze), and off-white for the front door. See the attached image for a mock up. I still love the gray/white/teal combo. Good luck if you go for it!

@glneedham Thanks! good luck with your project! It will be nice to have it finished and no more decisions. Love the urbane bronze! I haven't seen the blue swatch, I'm sure it will be pretty. Dark colors seem to be very in right now.
