Sorry, no such thing as a true red, but they are working on it. Here is a real nice darker one that is close. "Rio Rojo", Schreiner, 2009.

Red choices are between rusty reds or wine reds. Hope this gets the ball rolling on red input.

'Lady Friend' is the closest to red I've grown and it's definately garnet. Photographs often with pink tones. This pic is close to true color. It would not be considered vibrant. Does not combine well with other colors.

I was impressed with 'Vizier' as a vibrant wine red. Which also photographs inaccurately. Mine is lookig too 'pinky'.

I studied the Chiefs a few seasons - 'Chief Hematite', 'Chief Quinaby' and 'Chief Waukesha'. They were most often recommended. Quinaby had the least amount of rust in its red color.

I'm still hoping to see a BB called 'Cranapple'. Won the Knowlton Award. Toward wine I believe. To date 'Vizier' is my choice.
