Is this worth saving?

This is part of the KQ I bought yesterday at HD. The roots look okay and plentiful but the leaf tip looks to have fungus. Any thoughts?

I'd wing it in a separate pot. But if you're asking the question, they maybe why bother.

Over yrs. of growing & collecting Hoyas, I tend not to be fazed by these kinds of things. Things do incur mechanical damage sometimes, the odd bump here & there.

But you seem to see every single, ding, spot, discoloration, mar & scar & seem to be concerned about it. So perhaps just toss it & maybe have one less thing to worry about?

It's nothing to worry about. Lena's right - almost everything you'll see is just normal wear and tear, leaf damage, maybe an occasional bug or animal nibble. When it's something to worry about, trust me, you'll know! I put one of my Hoyas out on the back porch and it has developed some little black spots hither and dither, most likely from the sun. Just keep a watchful eye for mealies and scale - those are our biggest risks in growing Hoyas.

Great. I'll put it in a separate little pot and see how it grows. That's why I like to ask the experts.

Yes, I tend to question imperfections because I'm learning and I've invested too much money on Hoyas and citrus trees to have some fungus, bacteria and/or pest infect all my plants.

I'll double check the web next time before asking here. Thanks.

There's never any bad thing to ask, pls. don't take it that way. I apologize for causing offense & none was meant.

Where I'm coming from is you seem to stress & worry abt many little details, that if given a bit of time & patience, will show themselves to be no great shakes.

Don't know that I'm expert, it's just that I've done it a long time & over time, as Denise says, one sees all kinds of stuff on Hoyas, which by & large turn out to be nothing.

I've never had any problems with fungus, mildew, etc., probably because (as my husband says) I live in a wind tunnel! LOL! I have ceiling fans in almost every room and I run them, for the most part, 24/7/365. Air movement is key, and of course not too much humidity. I only run fans in my GH in the summer months, more for cooling purposes than air movement. It stays dry enough in my GH I don't have to worry about fungus or mildew...
