My thoughts reminiscent of Gills. Spider mites will cause distorted leaves and the speckled look to the leaves.

Give it a good cleaning w a solution you either make or one purchased. Do leaves and stems. Rinse off after an hour w plain water and leave out of sun.

The leaves will msg likely fall off, but these leaves will not recover anyhow.

Thanks for the suggestions. I had spider mites on on plant about two years ago. A quick treatment with Bayer 3 in 1 and they were obliterated. I've been checking for pests on this plant, but I haven't seen any critters. I'm leaning more towards some kind of deficiency or even toxicity. I was thinking I should water with pure water and try to flush the pot out for a while,and then slowly going back to half strength Foliage Pro.

I also think it's mites. In the USA you can take your plant (or some leaves) to your local county extension office and they'll diagnose your plant problem for FREE. They can confirm if it's mites but I think it is. There are a lot of treatments for mites but knowing precisely which species you are dealing with can go a long way to getting rid of them. AVID, Forbid 4, or sulfur spray are the most usual and most effective means to treat for mites generally. Neem oil and insecticide soaps are usually not effective. (Never mix sulfur with oil products!)

Spider mites are among the easiest to get rid of but broad mites for example, can be extremely resistant to most treatments. I had broad mites last year. Ick. Wise of you to quarantine this plant and wash your hands and change your clothes after handling it so you don't spread it to your other plants. Mite eggs can last 6 weeks or more so you will not want to mix it back in with your other stock for at least a couple of months, better to wait 3 months after you think the mites are gone. They generally like high heat and humidity but even that varies per species.
