Congratulation,i bet all your neighbors will be totally impressed by the goodness of these fruits compared to what is in commerce.

Herman2, yes, the neighbor's were impressed! They loved the figs! Here is a photo of the outside of the fig on it's leaf, and also a couple in the tree being destroyed by Fig Beetles. I HATE Fig Beetles. Lucky for most they only exist in the West and Texas.

Hubby is building some traps with sweet soda, a little soap, and a funnel so they can get in, but not out.

If it's not rats or possums, it's these guys!

This cultivar is most likely very good in rainy climates too ,due to closed eye .

I have those beetles too,there were dozen of them dancing together about 2 weeks ago,and i noticed they go in ground to lay eggs,but my fruits are not ripe yet so no damage,here..

It rains very little here and this is one of my largest and most prolific trees so far. The girth of it's trunk is much bigger than my others. You can almost see that tree grow! I love that about it!

Unfortunately, it was planted low in a spot where we removed a tree. Don't worry! It's on top of a cluster of granite boulders here, and they are decomposing at a fast rate, so it's VERY well drained soil. It has multiple trunks and really hard to get in there to manage things.
