after I prune, I toss on Rose tone fertilizer, alfalfa pellets and keep well watered. sometimes it takes a few weeks but I always get new growth.

You might want to remove the grass growing near its feet since that competes for food and water.

I cut mine about 6 inches or so from the ground and now am getting a second blooming. not as full as the first but plenty big. This southern Indiana
