So I was about to add a bit of fertilizer fui my 10 year old adenium obesum and noticed that the plant was wiggling about in the pot. Upon further investigation, I felt the caudex and...gasp!...out was spongy.

There I go into panic mode and grab my emergency supplies to perform surgery and repot. I took it out, and the spongy bottom was wet. I washed off all of the remaining soil from the roots, and I made a healthy cut out of it and saw that the insides were white. More panic.

I threw some rooting hormone on the fresh cut and out some diluted superthrive on the roots that I didn't prune. I put some sand and gravel at the bottomand repot my baby in a mix of 50/50 organic cactus mix and perlite and did not water. So....

After looking at the tossed out soil, i think that the it was old and no longer giving any nutrients to my adenium nor was it holding water long enough for the plant to drink, so the pour thing was dehydrated.

Did I just commit manslaughter??? I have seedlings, but this guy was the first ever plant that I didn't murder. It's made it through neglect, and it's even survived me pouring carpet cleaner water on it ( don't ask).
