All you have to do is not over water and be patient they will go red if they have adequate sun and normal levels of nutrients

but I do not advise feeding whilst ripening as I feel it can interfere with some natural processes and also affect the taste.

Never over do it the natural way is best

The way I see it. Is when a cat wants food you feed when you feed it too much the food is just left there for the flies.

Dabble here dabble there and then the plants will gain a state of preparation for consuming food when it does arrive not trying to get rid of it when too much arrives this has negative effects.

Add a few handfuls of garden soil to your next mix of soil and just see the results you'll be surprised.
