Travertine Paver Holes

last modified: 10 years ago

Looking for help on a new on decking installed over the summer. We are still working on the project. I have MAJOR concerns on the 1750 sq ft of travertine pavers we had installed. The concern is there are thousands of holes and what appears to be disintegrating spots(soft stone?) on much of the stone. I understand some holes are normal and to be expected.

We purchased this through our Pool builder and he subcontracted the labor. Its laid nicely. The stone is Country Classic French pattern. Our contractor purchased from Stone Mart in Tampa. Please see photos below . OK the advice I am looking for is should we have the polymeric sand technique used and seal the tile to prevent further degeneration?

Or have it grouted and filled and sealed ? Or did we have some really inferior stone. We live in Indiana and get some deep freeze's several times a year. Please some one who has dealt specifiable with this comment. Much appreciated !!

Steve
