Curious as to why it has that reputation? Maybe this is all luck and I'll find out in the coming months?

I hope it likes my culture as I have really fallen hard for this one. It's so lovely and there are a couple more buds waiting to open up :)

Congratulations. They are lovely. I found this plant difficult to grow, killed one and I've not tried since. Since that was long ago, I might try it again if the opportunity presents to purchase one.

I believe it prefers a bit cooler ambient than most encyclias, I tried to grow one in South Florida and it slowly withered away...
