Hm-m-m-m . . . I just looked up Versailles on Clematis on the Web and the colors look right, but it wouldn't be blooming now since it's an early large-flowered, and the picture on CotW doesn't have the gaps between petals that yours has. So I don't know that yours is likely Versailles.

My Oh My, NHBabs, you are quite the Inspector! My Clematis Versailles was purchased directly from Dan Long at Brushwood Nursery, so you might want to contact him directly to tell him he is selling fraudulent plants.

Poor thing is growing up through a pile of abandoned furniture and other scrap in our new back yard. My husband is gonna clean it all up and I want to save the flowering vine. I found that it is clematis but want more info

As Karen said I was referring to hers. I wouldn't ever question Dan's expertise, and I wouldn't ever accuse someone of fraudulence, though mistakes do happen. Please don't take offense where none is intended. My apologies for side-tracking your thread however.
