Master Bathroom Update

We added a bidet toilet seat (the Swash 1000 by Brondell) to our master bathroom and that prompted a change. It was just so brown before. I don't know what I was thinking.

I don't think people are using travertine and tumbled stone in bathrooms anymore, but I put the tile in 10 years ago and decided to keep it and just update the room with paint. The color change makes it looks so much better!

The vanity is a DIY. Husband turned dresser into the vanity and I had it topped with a remnant of leather finished granite.

There was carpet in here originally and that was the first thing to go. Here are the before and afters.

Jae, What a nice big bathroom. Changing the color to that light blue really makes your beautiful vanity pop! I still like the tumbled tile but perhaps I'm biased b/c I have it in the kitchen! Anyway, I laughed when I read how you changed ONE thing and it engendered a series of other changes. Looks lovely! Do you like your curbless shower?

Right? One change = domino effect. I've had the doorless shower for 10 years and feel like I prefer it now.

It looks great! What are the dimensions of the door.ess shower? How do you keep water from getting everywhere??

The shower is. 3.5 ft x 3 ft and I think the showerhead makes a difference in splashing. I've found that only a small corner of the baseboard next to the tile gets wet, and after a few years I used a waterproofing product on that baseboard only. Water does get on the floor (where the teak mat is) but the other big thing that helps is there's a ceiling fan in the bathroom and leaving that on after a shower dries everything pretty quickly.

I still like travertine and tumbled stone tile, and also warm creams and browns, but the light blue wall color change is such a nice change in your space. Very nice!
