I grew Maxibel fillet beans for the first time this year and they are also the first Haricots Verts type I have tried. I loved the taste and texture but they seemed to need to be picked a little more often then typical bush beans for best quality...maybe every 3 days instead of 4 or 5.

They grew very differently then any other bush bean I have grown. By the time they were done it was nearly impossible to separate one plant from another due to the running vines. They were also more difficult to harvest because I could not easily manipulate the plants to find the beans.

Are Haricots Verts all considered half runner beans and have the same growth habit as Maxibel?
