Hello My father recently mailed me a variety of iris bulbs from his yard. These bulbs were well established with no issues. Bloomed beautifully in zone 6a (Kansas City). He cut off all the foliage to fit the bulbs into a box. The roots are still in tact and healthy. Will the removed foliage affect the bulb once I replant them? I live in planting zone 8 (Portland Oregon). Should I plant these bulbs before fall? The bulbs were never dug up for winters at my parents house, they always stayed planted. Any tips for storing these bulbs? Also the bulbs are mixed up so I have no idea what type of irises, is there a website that I could identify them by their roots?
