How big is the plant and how long has it been in the pot?

What exactly is in your "quick draining mix"?

Maybe you did not water on top of the entire plant? i dont know..

I like to water my plants in the shower the whole thing gets wet.

I use pine bark fines and large perlite or a blend of coir and perlite or MG potting mix and same amount of perlite.

The plant is in a 4 or 5 inch pot. I water them with a hose sometimes or from a gallon jug when I add fertilizer and/or kelp or molasses.

The plant is in the same pot I received it in a few months back.

Did you remove ALL the original mix it came it? Or was some left around the rootball? If left on the rootball, that COULD be why.
