2016 Blue Star Range or Wolf

Hi Everyone. I am redoing a kitchen and installing a 48" range. I think I have narrowed it down between the Blue Star and Wolf. I like the ease of self cleaning and reliability of Wolf however the Blue Star is incredible. My only concern is what I have heard about hot doors from using oven. My highest temp is 425. I was told doors were redesigned to address this problem. The RNB which I prefer gets hot as tap water and the Platinum doesn't get hot at all. Has anyone purchased and used the latest Blue Star? What is your experience with the heat of the oven door? Appreciate what you have to say!!

I have a Wolf and it is not all that great. If you start to use too many burners or the burners and the oven, the burners lose a lot of power. The back right corner of the oven cooks too fast. Overall I think it is not worth the money that I spent. We are currently building a new home and have decided to put in Blue Star appliances. I don't have any experience with Blue Star, yet.... but I would never spend the money again on a Wolf.

Jilldag, do you have an all gas range? I am assuming so since your burners lose power while using the oven at the same time. I have a DF Wolf and love it! I don't have the same issue with the gas burners while using the electric convention oven.

It is all gas. We cook a lot in our family and have found that the Wolf also cooks unevenly. I have a Wolf electric wall oven. I just feel that Wolf is overpriced for the quality. Not particularly bad, but not great either. We are hoping to have better luck with Blue Star.

I have a Wolf DF and it isn't all that reliable and I would not recommend using the self clean. Mine was great for 4.5 years and then developed the blue porcelain chipping after a self clean so the only way it can be used is to keep stuff covered and no convection. Search blue chipping on this forum and elsewhere and you will find plenty about it on the ranges and the L and E wall ovens. Not using the self clean is no guarantee you won't have the problems either. There is a lawsuit involving the ranges. I would love to replace mine but I don't have much confidence in any DFs. If I had it to do over, I would get a rangetop and wall ovens. You can pick each component as best for your needs rather than picking the rangetop and accepting the oven that comes with it or vice versa. If the oven goes, you are not having to replace the whole appliance.

Thank you we kick, I've read a lot of advice similar to yours. Unfortunately its to late for me to do that. My cabinets were ordered a while ago and I only have room for the range. That would have definitely solved a lot of problems.
