The insert has a urethane finish and would not take a stain. We could make a custom unit for you (which you can design on our website) and ship it unfinished so that you can apply a stain. If you decide to do that, I'd recommend that you choose targeted (non-adjustable) dividers on the final page of our Classic Custom Insert wizard. Otherwise, you would have our standard slotted walls, which would be difficult to apply finish to.
