I have a willow cutting growing in a pot. Due to hot weather, I put in the cooler basement. The soil was very wet when I first put it down there. It's been two weeks, maybe nearing three now, and the soil still seems fairly wet, I haven't watered the pot at all.

Is that okay? Is that safe? Should I be worried or is it not a problem at all? The willow seems to be doing fine, it's even sending out new growth.
