Its actually a small overhead garage door, with glass panels, 6' wide x 4' high. Works well because there is no sill so the countertop can run through the opening. Call any local garage door company. The track will need some modification and paint, but it looks cool unfinished as well.

yes, but it needs to have protection from direct exposure to rain. Our opening was under an overhang and screened porch, works great. The key is the thermal break in the granite to avoid outside temps coming in.

It was a while ago so I forget, but it was a few thousand for the door and several hundred to install. Hope that helps. And it was worth it, the door works perfectly all day, everyday....

On the garage door. Does it have screens? What would keep the rain out when the north wind is blowing 40 knots? How did you compensate for the shortage of wall cabinet storage when 6' is dedicated to this pass through? Any other practical information you can share?

well, the kitchen was large enough to afford the loss of upper cabinets, especially for a beach house. The window is protected by a covered porch so rain does not get to it, but even if it werent protected, the seal at the countertop is good enough to avoid leakage. The porch was screened so no need for screens on the window. Its a very practical solution but most importantly...its very cool.
