I'm in a town of 4500. Burger King built their own building 2 blocks away from their former rented building. A boxed in patch 3 ft. x 18" sits there calling my name. Every time I go through the Drive Thru it whispers, "Wouldn't flowers look good here?" I'll call this undercover action Pickle-Tunia (wink wink). That way we won't be found out when Burger King searches our hard drives!

I was thinning out a flower bed and I couldn't stop myself. Some people are undercover rogue agents and spies. I sneak annuals and perennials onto the property of fast food joints. I've sprinkled seeds along 2 other businesses in the last 5 years. I'm hoping the Paint Ball business is surrounded by cottage flowers next spring!

First I had to dig out the weeds. Even though it was only a few months, there were numerous weeds. I did, for a few minutes, make sure I was completely inside the flower bed while a customer drove through for their fries. Then I dug some holes and placed 18" French marigolds and a small volunteer Columbine in place. I went inside and filled up an empty flower pot with water from the soda machine (not Coke) and watered the babies in their new homes. It was 3 p.m.--which turns out to be a very good time to be a flower-planting spy at a burger joint. I drove away.

It's perfect--this weekend it's only 75 degrees so they won't die of heat. Then it rained! Yeah! My daughter came home and mentioned she noticed Burger King had some flowers. That was me!!!! She's sworn to secrecy! The manager is afraid she'll have to water flowers and she doesn't have time for nonsense like that (poor lady--no appreciation). So I may have to carry my watering flower pot with me and sneak outside with a cool drink of water for my plants or go through drive-thru with it already full! I planted Double French Marigolds-orange and yellow-which match the BK logo. Columbine color tbd. Just had to share my fun!
