Summer pictures

Everything is so lush right now in Georgia. I thought I would share some pictures of my back deck. I don't garden in the yard, just too many critters eating everything.

Lush is right - everything is so green and vibrant. Thanks Barb.

I like your plant choice, and those full pots make a nice presentation.. You've got some beauties there, Ms. Mock!

Beautiful as always! What's the 2 toned plant in the first pic to the right of the Patens? So unusual, I love it! Are u doing garden tours anytime soon? ;-)

Oh Katrina, no garden tours. They would have to walk through my messy house. The variegated plant is masoniana. Here's a pic of the whole plant. It is getting bigger this summer. Notice that leaf on the right, probably 6 inches taller than the others

Absolutely gorgeous collection! The masoniana is killer beautiful. Great growing, Barb!

Thanks everyone. We're having tropical weather here, lots of heat, sun, rain, humidity. The plants are loving it right now. I have been very fortunate, lots of plants have been shared by generous friends.

Ahhhh Masoniana! Yes, I can see it now. We're having the same weather here and the plants are thriving. I wish our lawn didn't have to be mowed so often though!

Too hot and wet here. I lost a couple of Euphorbias to rot. So I now have more room for Sans.

Amazing collection! Wish I lived somewhere tropical...

Thanks Mary, we only have a few weeks of this weather each summer. Then they all have to adjust to living indoors.

Stush, I know what you mean, my euphorbia didn't like it either. Oh well.

Somehow missed this thread before Barb! They look great!! As Stush probably appreciates, the winters are too long here at our latitude but I love this time of year when it is warm and I can get them (the Sansevieria) outside. They grow like crazy with heat and moisture! Man, that masoniana is incredible. That one pup/section there with the white centers and dark green edges is amazing. I wonder if you separate that one if it will keep growing more or less true to that form(?)/

Hi Chris, Thank you very much! I don't know, masoniana is always a surprise. That section with the whie centers has the largest white leaves so far. There is another leaf that came out this summer with a much bigger leaf. Maybe they are reaching maturity. It's always fun with these variable ones.

It's freezing wind and rain here in SE Michigan, barb, and looking at this summer thread has warmed my heart. Your sans are so beautiful. And i love the color of your house and all your plants.

    Hi Pat,

Thanks for the nice note. Everything looks a lot different now in the middle of January. We have had ice and snow this week and haven't left the house in 4 days. I guess being in Michigan means a long and cold winter season. Brrrr!

The plants are all crowding around the window for little ray of sunshine. I think we will all be ready for spring.

I'm glad this post got bumped up, it reminds me that we will have warm weather eventually. Thanks!
