LSU Gold is a fantastic fig IF you allow it to fully ripen. They are at their very best if you pick them at the right time,and then allow them to further ripen on the kitchen counter overnight. I think that LSU Gold and LSU Purple both get a bum rap by those who pick them too soon.

I GO ALONG WITH l.S.u GOLD ARE PRETTY DARN GOOD!! Mine is in the ground but i wish it be more productive. Though i am happy with mine.
