Since no one has responded so far, let me try to help bearing in mind my pot cultured figs are all newbies for me.

The general consensus is that figs do not require high nitrogen amounts in ground or in pots. Pot cultured figs need supplemental fertilization. Whether liquid feedings are given or timed released pellets are used keep the nitrogen down.

Many sources recommend using a fertilizer formulated for citrus trees. Also, supplemental applications of lime are indicated since figs do not like acidic soil.

Miracle Gro makes a slow release 3 month pellet for citrus I intend to try for my pot culture figs. Look I to this option for yourself.

I also have a Violette de Bordeaux of which I have great expectations.

Kinda confused. I just responded and nothing happened. Anyway. Alkaline is best for figs, so a little lime. MG is cool every 6 months. Hard for me to respond. I grow nothing in pots. It's all in ground. Perfect fig climate. Yours will go dormant for a while. But the variety is a cool weather fig, so it should be great. Here, it sucks! It wilts in the heat. Breba crop is great, but anything else is small and horrible.

Early in spring on this forum someone asked questions about fertilizing . Dieseler/ Martin added his way of fertilizing . Which was ONCE A WEEK DILUTED 1/2 STRONG MIRACLE GROW, and so I tried it and it very very successful. THANKS MARTIN. My fig trees could not give me more fig. After every leave there is a fig or two. Now I would love to make pictures and show you the results but I don't know how to do that.
