These two plants are hibiscus, yet they appear very different. I can't tell if they are perennial or tropical. Can someone identify? Only one has bloomed, the one with the smaller leaves. The flower was red with no center color but a very long stamen. The one on the left has large leaves, a bit shiny, and sprouted branches from where I trimmed them. The one on the right has smaller leaves, no shine and does not sprout branches, but leaves grow along original stem at nodules. I rescued them from the dump last fall and wintered them over in the house...they seem grateful!
