Looks like old growth on the stems, and sunburn damage on the leaves. Maybe let it hydrate in a bag for a bit?

Some of my hoya stems peel like that. I can also see a bit of old probable mechanical damage or damage due to plant being too heavy (you can tell it is old because it is not green and looks to have tried to scar over).

As for the leaves...just saw one (and only one...the only one that crept through my shadecloth) like that on my obovata. It is sunburn.
