Very pretty, Monica! I don't find carnosa to be boring at all. Where did you find it? Still waiting for Nikki to bloom, but she is throwing out new vines right and left. I also have a smaller carnosa I got from TigerDawn a few years ago that was from her grandmother's plant. It's developing new growth, too. I haven't named that one, but TD called her plant Reenie after her grandmother.

Thanks Brad. I got it on eBay from Susan (beastlyflower) I've had good success with her Hoyas. I'm taking a big break from Gardinos.

Carnosa was the first Hoya I ever saw, my father's. He kept it for years but when he was hospitalised I noticed it had rooted into the ground and weeds were growing through it. I pulled as much out as I could, repotted it and trained it up onto some mesh. This is how it looked after the repotting.

Oh wow, that's beautiful and huge. I just love the flowers. The flower without the red center reminds me a little of a tiny growing edelweiss I saw growing high up in the mountains in Salzburg.

Oh wow Monica, what a beauty! My little carnosas are doing well and growing nicely, but I have a long time yet before I can even hope for blooms. Someday. :)

They certainly are stingy bloomers, that's why I bought this one already blooming. For me, it was worth every penny. :-)

I would like to find a cutting of it with an established peduncle or two so I could definitely see some blooms soon. I have one of motoskei with a peduncle, but it hasn't budded up yet. It's a little less wait time with blooms (and larger umbels) than carnosa. Fungii was pretty rapid with blooms, too, and it has more flowers per cluster than carnosa and motoskei, but I love them all!

Moonwolf, every cutting I have ever had or taken with an established peduncle, with the exception of javanica, has blasted the peduncle on me. Every time, I had a carnosa cutting with 2 peduncles, lost both. I think Monica has the right idea, if you want a blooming sized hoya, buy a blooming sized hoya. Or, wait. :)

Plain green carnosas are hard to come by any more in physical locations. I have seen them for sale in the past (our Wal-Mart, of all places, and one of the other local grocery stores downtown). The only Hoyas I remember ever buying in bloom were nummularoides and lacunosa. I wish I could find a carnosa in bloom or bud around here.

I just love it! I love carnosa! I can't find them local. I'm so afraid of eBay. I've lost over $100 on eBay with plants.that is a lot to me. I had a cutting with a peduncle on it but it looks dried up. I don't known but I really love your plant

Ebay is hit or miss. You have to look up the feedback rating of the seller. It also doesn't hurt to read some of the feedback.

Also, when you buy cuttings and plants anywhere online, not just ebay, there is always a risk of the cutting or plant suffering during shipping, no matter how well it was packed. That being said, a good vendor will attempt to make things right.

On that note, quite a few of us here sell on ebay.

Monica, your krinkle tinkles is huge!! So beautiful! I bought one too but in a 4" pot and putting out new growth.

I bought David's green cup too. Mine is blooming right now! The flower looks like obovata's. Here is a pic
