We got a phalaenopsis orchid a while back. We had no idea it was an epiphyte, and, it suffered from root rot as a consequence. The main stem of the orchid rotted away, and when we finally tried to repot it, the very top had fell away, as the only surviving pot to the rot. We cleaned it for rot, and now, we were wondering if it was possible to regrow the orchid from the leaves at the very top, or if it was doomed.
